Silverthorne, Colorado.

Silverthorne, located just west of the Eisenhower Tunnel on I-70, is the gateway to Summit County. Situated on the Blue River, Silverthorne is true to its Colorado roots in offering plenty of outdoor activities including fly fishing, golfing, Nordic skiing, rafting, and kayaking. Its beautiful alpine backdrop reminds us that skiing is just around the corner. Silverthorne sits between some of the state's most renowned ski areas, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Keystone, and the Legend, Arapahoe Basin.

While I enjoy all of these activities, my favorite Silverthorne past time is shopping. This town is the commercial hub of Summit County and is home to larger retailers and The Silverthorne Outlet Stores. While most of the county caters to smaller local stores, visitors and locals alike enjoy the diversity in Silverthorne of being able to shop at stores like Polo Ralph Lauren, Coach, Pure Mountain Outlet, and Nike. My other favorite attraction is the beautiful Silverthorne Pavilion. Its chandeliers and arched ceilings make it a perfect location for weddings, and I love the plays and concerts offered year-round. I think that Silverthorne is one of Summit County's best secrets so be sure to spend a day at the outlets or in the fresh mountain air.
