Lake Dillon

Lake Dillon is one of the most beautiful "attractions" in Summit County. Although it is used for year-round recreation, my favorite time at the lake is in the summer. With the lake just 15 minutes from Breckenridge I can hike around the lake, sail the lake, or enjoy the infamous Tiki Bar. Renting a paddleboat, sailboat, or pontoon boat for the day or afternoon takes you to an idyllic spot where beautiful water and towering mountains make for a breathtaking backdrop.

The Dillon Marina offers lessons and hosts regattas almost every weekend of the summer. The sight of the crystal blue lake dotted with fishing and sailing boats is picturesque. Fishermen will enjoy catching the brown or rainbow trout that are abundant in the lake. With 26 miles of shoreline, finding the perfect spot to fish or catch some sun is never a problem. During your stay in Breckenridge, I recommend spending a day at Lake Dillon. Enjoy the crisp mountain air on one of the highest lakes in the country.
