Breckenridge Ski Resort

While Breckenridge is a great place to be, the mountain that looms over our quaint town offers year-round activities for visitors of every age. During the winter, Breckenridge Ski Resort offers a ski school with childcare services and instruction for kids, as well as, adults of every ability level. The four peaks of Breckenridge are a great place to learn to ski or to hone the skills of the most advanced skier or rider. There are great on-mountain restaurants and exciting base areas on Peaks 8 and 9. Grab lunch or go for apr's-ski with entertainment, delicious beverages, and tasty eats. As for the summer, Peak 8 turns into a great place to mountain bike, sight see from atop the Colorado Super Chair, or take part in some of the activities such as mini golf, the alpine slide, or the climbing wall. Here are some of my favorite things about the majestic peaks that make Breckenridge Ski Resort one of the best in the Rocky Mountains!

Peak 7
The newest addition to Breckenridge Ski Resort, Peak 7 is one of my favorite spots on the mountain. Gladed areas and rolling terrain make for a more natural ski experience. Intermediate skiers and riders will like its flatter slopes and more advanced skiers will enjoy the trees and backcountry experience in Ore Bucket. The six person Independence Superchair speeds the lift lines up, even on the busiest days. Take the cat-track over to experience one of my favorite spots on the mountain.

The Alpine Slide
When the snow melts, the Alpine Slide appears down the left side of Peak 8. As part of the Peak 8 Fun Park, you can buy tickets at the ticket windows at the base of the mountain. You will take a small lift hallway up the mountain, unload, and jump on your "sled" to head down the mountain. Take it as fast or slow, as you want, but most importantly, enjoy yourself. This is one of my favorite things to do when summer hits!

The Bergenhoff
The first restaurant built on the mountain, The Begenhoff is a great meeting place whether for lunch or apr's ski. This on-mountain restaurant offers a great variety of food for lunch including burgers, pizza, and burritos. This is home of Bergy Beach, the spring skiing gathering at the bottom of Peak 8. Grab drinks from the Tiki Bar or Silver Bullet Saloon and watch skiers and riders come down for the end of the day. This is the place to be on the mountain. The Imperial Express Superchair The newest chairlift on the mountain is also the most exciting. The Imperial Express Superchair opened in December of 2005 and opens the mountain to more skiing. The skiing under the chair is constantly getting fresh snow and the views from the top are incredible. Take a chance and head up the mountain to experience the best view in Breckenridge.
